Christmas 2014 and beyond

The choir will be singing carols as part of the Manchester Central Library "Christmas Extravaganza" at 12 noon on Saturday 13th December.  We will be on the minstrels' gallery overlooking the main entrance !

The programme will be a couple of well known carols, some modern carols which you might not know so well, and a round-up of bouncy Christmas songs.

The following Wednesday evening meeting, December 17th at 7.15 pm, will consist of an hour's singing, our Annual General Meeting and then a sampling of some seasonal food and drink !

We start again on Wednesday 7th January at 7.15 pm, continuing our rehearsals to take part in a concert on Saturday 31st January at 7.30 pm at Christ Church, West Didsbury - just off Princess Parkway after the Barlow Moor Road crossing.  The fund-raising concert is being organised by "Freedom from Torture".  We will be singing the Choral Section from The Armed Man Mass.

Summer break

After an enjoyable couple of months singing a collection of old favourites and new pieces just for fun, we are now on our summer break.

First meeting after the summer is on Wednesday 3rd September, 7.15 pm

See you then !

Saturday 8 February 2014

No meeting on February 19th

Remember that we don't meet during Manchester school holidays, so no meeting on Wednesday 19th February 2014.

The concert approaches !

The date for our forthcoming concert has now been revised to be Friday 28th March 2014.

We will be performing a programme of English music at the Didsbury Baptist Church, School Lane, Didsbury at 7.30 pm

Rehearsals for the concert are now in full swing, and we will be visiting the church for a practice session on Wednesday 26th February instead of meeting at the Cavendish School venue as usual.

We are also changing our meeting times - we will now meet from 7.15 pm to 9.15 pm.  This change in time will be effective from 26th February.

The front door at the school will be open as usual until 7.30 pm, but it is then locked and you must have arranged to telephone someone inside to ask to be let in.
